Aluminum

Aluminum

A6061 is a precipitation-hardened aluminum alloy commonly used for building aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselages, more commonly in homebuilt aircraft than commercial or military aircraft. It has good mechanical properties, exhibits good weldability, and very high corrosion resistance. It is one of the most common alloys of aluminum for general-purpose use. A6061 is well-suited to the construction of boat and motorcycle parts, bicycle frames, scuba tanks, camera lenses, fishing reels, electrical fittings, couplings and valves.
